Calculation formula
Volume = length × width × (thickness in mm ÷ 1000); litres = volume × 1000. Mix requirement = area × coverage per 10 mm × (thickness ÷ 10).
Example: For a 5 × 4 m floor with a 50 mm screed, the area is 20 m² and the geometric volume is 1 m³ or 1,000 L. Mix weight depends on the product label.
Frequently asked questions
Why are litres not automatically converted to bags?
Litres describe the finished layer volume, while bags describe the mass of dry mix. The conversion needs the coverage printed for the specific product and its mixing instructions.
How should I handle a sloping floor?
Enter the average layer thickness. If the difference is large, measure several zones and use an average or calculate the zones separately.
