Calculation formula
Adhesive without allowance = area × product coverage × number of layers; with allowance = result × (1 + allowance / 100); bags = ceil(adhesive with allowance ÷ bag weight).
Example: For 20 m², coverage of 4 kg/m², one application layer and a 10% allowance, the estimate is 88 kg. With 25 kg bags, 4 bags are needed.
Frequently asked questions
Why can adhesive usage differ from online estimates?
The manufacturer’s rate is specific to its mix and stated conditions. Tile format, substrate flatness and trowel notch also affect the result.
What does the number of layers mean here?
It is normally 1. Increase it only when adhesive is genuinely applied in several calculated layers.
