Calculation formula
Filler = area × layer thickness × coverage for 1 mm × number of layers; with allowance = total weight × (1 + allowance / 100).
Example: For 20 m², two 1 mm layers and coverage of 1.2 kg/m² per 1 mm, the estimate is 48 kg. With a 10% allowance, 52.8 kg is needed, or 3 bags of 20 kg.
Frequently asked questions
Which coverage should I use for a finishing compound?
Enter the value from the label of your exact finishing compound. Different formulations and substrates use different amounts, so one universal rate would be misleading.
Is the thickness entered for one pass?
Yes. For two 1 mm layers, enter 1 mm and set the number of layers to 2. Do not add the layers manually and multiply them again.
