Calculation formula
Strip length = room height + allowance; with a repeat, strip length is rounded up to a whole repeat. Strips = ⌈(perimeter − opening widths) ÷ roll width⌉; rolls = ⌈strips ÷ strips per roll⌉.
Example: For a 5 × 4 m room with one 0.9 m door, two 1.2 m windows and a 0.53 × 10.05 m roll without repeat, the estimate is about 28 strips and 10 rolls.
Frequently asked questions
Why enter the pattern repeat?
A repeat is the distance before the design starts again. Matching it makes each strip longer and reduces the number of usable strips from a roll.
Should I add a cutting allowance?
Enter the allowance you expect to need at the ceiling and floor. There is no universal value; it depends on wall straightness and the installation method.
Why can the actual number of rolls differ?
Openings, pattern direction and offcuts affect the layout. For expensive or strongly patterned wallpaper, draw the wall-by-wall cutting plan.
