Calculation formula
Perimeter = 2 × (length + width) or the entered value; required length = perimeter − door count × opening width; pieces = ceil(length with allowance ÷ piece length).
Example: For a 5 × 4 m room with one 0.9 m door opening and 2.5 m pieces, the net length is 17.1 m. With a 10% allowance, 8 pieces are needed.
Frequently asked questions
Should I subtract windows?
No. Window openings normally do not interrupt baseboard at floor level, so the calculator subtracts doors only.
How do I handle doors with different widths?
Add their widths together and use the known perimeter with that adjustment, or calculate the total manually before entering the final length.
